Hamptons Beach Permits & Rules 2026: Parking, Dogs & What You Need to Know

Planning a beach day in the Hamptons? Before you go, it’s important to understand how beach access works — from parking permits to seasonal rules and dog restrictions.

Here’s your updated 2026 guide so you can enjoy the coastline without surprises.

🚗 Beach Parking Permits & Pricing

Most Town of Southampton beaches require a parking permit during the season.

Early Bird Pricing (April 1 – May 22, 2026)

• Town Resident: $50 per vehicle

• Senior Resident (62+): $40 per vehicle

• Non-Resident Full Season: $500 per vehicle

Peak Season Pricing (Beginning May 23, 2026)

• Town Resident: $60 per vehicle

• Senior Resident: $40 per vehicle

• Non-Resident Full Season: $525 per vehicle

Additional Parking Options

• Daily Parking: $40 per day

• Pre-Season Daily Parking: $20 (Mon–Fri, excludes holidays)

• Sunset Parking: $20 (5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, May 15 – Sept 15)

🐶 Dog Rules at Hamptons Beaches

Dog regulations are strictly enforced and vary by season.

Important Rules:

❌ Dogs are NOT allowed at beach recreation facilities

April 1 through October 1

Limited Dog Access (Summer Evenings & Early Morning)

✔ Dogs are allowed ONLY on Trustee/Town access roads

📅 July 1 through Labor Day

🕕 6:00 PM – 9:00 AM

This means dogs are not allowed on main beach areas during the day in peak season.

Off-Season (Best Time for Dogs)

Outside peak months, many beaches become more dog-friendly, especially early mornings and evenings.

• No alcohol allowed

• No glass containers

• No fires or barbecues without permits

• No smoking or vaping

• Beaches close at 9:00 PM

• Swimming allowed only in protected areas
